HOYS Joy for Georgia Barrett
You may recall a couple of editions ago a report about a Prince Philip Cup Pony Club event held in the village. Exciting news has reached Cider Press HQ about Georgia Barrett of Church House whose team from North Hereford Hunt Pony Club has qualified for the Horse of the Year Show Finals of the Prince Philip Cup.
This achievement is unprecedented in the history of NHHPC and Georgia and her team mates are justifiably delighted. Qualification was incredibly hard fought but the team of six girls kept their cool keeping accurate and fast and beating some of the best known clubs in the UK to pick the final flag.
The children, parents, trainers and ponies will arrive on Monday 2nd October and stay for the week at the NEC, practicing at 4.30am with daily competitions at around 3pm and 7.30pm starting on Wednesday 4th until the finale on the evening of Sunday 8th . The 4 teams with the most points will battle it out for the PPC.
In addition to this, the teams will also need to build a state of the art tack room on the first day which will be inspected by the Royal Horse Artillery Kings Troop among others.
HOYS is being broadcast on Horse & Country TV If you wish to follow the team’s progress.
The best of luck to Georgia and co.
Monday 9t Octobe update: Georgia and her pony Sunny along with their fellow team mates in North Herefordshire Hunt Pony Club team achieved 5th place in the Prince Philip Cup and 3rd in the tack and turnout (which includes the stables).
Well done on a fantastic team performance.
